Estonia produces 71% of the meat consumed here

According to Statistics Estonia, 76,500 tonnes of meat were produced in Estonia in 2024, which is 1% more than the year before. The average annual meat production was 56 kg per person. Including imported meat, a total of 78 kg of meat per person were consumed during the year. 71% of the meat consumed in Estonia in 2024 was locally produced.

European accommodation establishments have unstable period

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2008 tourists spent over 2.3 billion nights in nearly half million accommodation establishments of the European Union. At the same time, this decade has seen an increase in the terrorist attack risk and the economic crisis of recent years has had a significant influence on people's travel behaviour and on accommodation establishments.

General Government expenditures decreased

According to revised data of Statistics Estonia, in 2009 the Estonian general government sector deficit was 1.7% and gross debt level was 7.2% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In the 1st half of 2010 the general government sector deficit was 4.2 billion kroons and gross debt level was 15 billion kroons.

Producer price indices increased in August

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2010 the producer price index of industrial output increased by 0.9% compared to July and by 4.6% compared to August of the previous year.

The Agricultural Census survey begins today

According to Statistics Estonia, starting today, 15 September, interviewers from Statistics Estonia will begin visiting households included on the census list for the Agricultural Census. Interviews will take place with households belonging to private persons that did not take part in the 1-10 September e-Census.

In July exports of goods increased significantly

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2010, compared to July of the previous year exports of goods at current prices grew by 32% and imports by 24%. The turnover of exports of goods was bigger only in May this year.
