Preprimary education

The first time children spend significant time away from their parents is usually in preschool. Children also gain independence and start their educational journey there. Preprimary education promotes children’s general skills and overall development.

Statistics on preprimary education provide information, such as:

  • how many children attend preschool institutions in Estonia;
  • how many preschool institutions there are in Estonia.

For the society to function well, all parents should have the possibility to send their children to preschool. In order to ensure the adequate number of places in preschool institutions everywhere in Estonia, it is important to know how many children of preschool age there are.
