In March, the decline in industrial production accelerated

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2023, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 12.6% at constant prices compared with the corresponding month of 2022. Output fell in all three sectors: by 18.5% in electricity production, by 11.9% in manufacturing, and by 14.9% in mining.

Producer price index down for the third month in a row

The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, decreased by 0.4% in March 2023 compared with February 2023 and increased by 7.9% compared with March 2022.

According to Statistics Estonia, nearly 222,000 tourists stayed in accommodation establishments in February 2023, which is 31% more than in February last year. The number of both domestic and foreign tourists increased.

Trade with non-EU countries decreased in February

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2023, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 2% and imports decreased by 8% compared with February 2022. Exports of goods amounted to 1.5 billion and imports to 1.6 billion euros at current prices. The trade deficit was 103 million euros, down by 167 million euros year on year.
