Exports of goods of Estonian origin decreased in June

According to Statistics Estonia, in June, Estonia’s exports of goods amounted to 1.6 billion and imports to 1.9 billion euros. Compared with June 2022, exports of goods decreased by 14% and imports by 13% at current prices. The trade deficit in June was 271 million euros, which is 33 million euros less than in the same month last year.

Consumer price index fell in July

According to Statistics Estonia, in July, the consumer price index decreased by 0.6% compared with June 2023 and increased by 6.4% compared with July 2022. Goods were 8.1% and services 3.1% more expensive than in July last year.

Industrial production continued to fall in June

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2023, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 12.6% at constant prices compared with a year earlier. Output declined in two of the three main sectors: by 29.2% in electricity production and by 12.4% in manufacturing. In mining, output increased by 1.6%.

Trade in goods with non-EU countries decreased the most in May

According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2023, Estonia’s exports of goods decreased by 15% and imports by 13% at current prices compared with May 2022. Exports of goods amounted to 1.6 billion and imports to 1.9 billion euros at current prices. The trade deficit was 309 million euros, which is 12 million euros more than in May last year.
