Study: Estonian Adults Among the Best in the World in Skills, Especially in Younger Generations
The latest results from The Survey of Adult Skills PIAAC highlight that Estonian adults perform exceptionally well in key skills, with the share of highly skilled individuals increasing since the last survey. At the same time, socioeconomic gaps have widened, and the proportion of low-skilled adults has grown. Estonia ranks 6th globally in overall skills, following Finland, Japan, Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands.
GDP flash estimate: the economy contracted by 0.7% in Q3

Which smart devices do people in Estonia use at home?

Foreign trade in goods was up in December but down in 2024 as a whole

Volume of industrial production decreased by 4% in 2024

Among the three industrial sectors, output decreased by 4.4% in manufacturing, remained the same in electricity production and increased by 2.9% in mining.

1,369,285 people: Estonia's population decreased according to preliminary data
The preliminary data of Statistics Estonia show that on 1 January 2025, the population of Estonia was 1,369,285, which is 5,402 persons less than at the same time a year ago. In 2024, there were 9,646 births and 15,596 deaths. Based on the data on registered migration, 13,826 persons arrived in the country and 13,278 persons left. As in 2023, the number of births and the number of immigrants both decreased.
Exports of goods boosted by domestic products in November

Exports of goods amounted to nearly €1.6 billion and imports to €1.7 billion at current prices. The trade deficit was €166 million, which is €53 million less than in November of the previous year.
The consumer price index rose by 3.5% in 2024
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2024, the consumer price index increased by 3.5% compared with the average of 2023. Price changes related to food and non-alcoholic beverages had the biggest impact on the consumer price index in 2024.
