According to Statistics Estonia, in 2012, 18.7% of the Estonian population lived in relative poverty and 7.3% in absolute poverty. The overall percentage of people living in relative poverty increased 1.2 percentage points compared to the previous year, but the percentage of people living in absolute poverty decreased 0.8 percentage points.

According to Statistics Estonia, 148,000 foreign tourists and 80,000 domestic tourists used the services of accommodation establishments in October 2013. The total number of tourists increased 4% compared to October of the previous year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2013, exports of goods decreased by 1% and imports by 6% at current prices compared to October of the previous year. The decrease in exports was mostly influenced by the dispatches of agricultural goods which declined by 17% compared to October 2012.
