Sown area of potatoes smaller than ever before
According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia and the Agricultural Registers and Information Board (ARIB), the utilised agricultural area this year is 983,400 hectares, which is 4,400 hectares less than in 2023. There has been a slight decrease in arable land, as well as in the area of fruit and berry plantations. The sown area of potatoes, which has been in decline for a long time, continues the trend and is 8% smaller in 2024 than the year before.

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2013, exports of goods decreased by 8% and imports by 2% at current prices compared to September of the previous year. Exports and imports have declined for four successive months, compared to the same month of the previous year. According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2013 compared to September of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 5% at constant prices. PHC 2011: households’ living conditions have improved since the previous census
According to the data of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), 70% of private households live in dwellings with all basic amenities. In the 2000 census, that share was 65%.
