Sown area of potatoes smaller than ever before

According to preliminary data of Statistics Estonia and the Agricultural Registers and Information Board (ARIB), the utilised agricultural area this year is 983,400 hectares, which is 4,400 hectares less than in 2023. There has been a slight decrease in arable land, as well as in the area of fruit and berry plantations. The sown area of potatoes, which has been in decline for a long time, continues the trend and is 8% smaller in 2024 than the year before.

In May, trade grew again by a half

Exports and imports of services were at the same level in the first quarter

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the first quarter of 2021, the exports of services grew by 2% and imports of services by 51% year on year. Estonian economic entities exported and imported services for 1.6 billion euros. According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2020, compared to October 2019, the exports of goods increased by 10% and imports decreased by 5%. Of the total exports, the goods of Estonian origin accounted for 75%. Exports to non-EU countries increased by 38%, while exports to EU countries decreased by 2%.
