HICP flash estimate: prices up by 0.9% in August
According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in August 2025, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which includes the expenditures of tourists, increased by 0.9% compared with July. In comparison with July last year, the HICP rose by 6.2%. The HICP is a flash estimate, which will be revised based on the August price data.
Revised data: average wages and salaries were €2126 in the second quarter
According to Statistics Estonia's revised data, in the second quarter of 2025, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were €2,126, which is 5.9% higher than in the second quarter of 2024.

According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in July 2025, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which includes the expenditures of tourists, increased by 0.6% compared with June. Compared with July last year, the HICP rose by 5.6%.
GDP flash estimate: economy grew by 0.5% in Q2
According to Statistics Estonia's preliminary estimate, Estonia's economy showed modest improvement in the second quarter of 2025. Compared with the second quarter of 2024, the gross domestic product (GDP) increased by 0.5%.
In the third quarter, the number of job vacancies decreased by a fifth year on year
According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2024, there were 9,905 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This is 18% less than in the same quarter last year. In the third quarter, 5,819 persons left their job at the initiative of the employer.
Manufacturing output up by 0.8% in October
According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2024, the total production of industrial enterprises at constant prices was the same as in October last year. Among the three industrial sectors, output increased by 0.8% in manufacturing but decreased by 2.8% in mining and by 7.4% in electricity production.
The economy contracted by 0.7% in Q3
According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2024, the gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 0.7% compared with the same period of 2023. The GDP at current prices amounted to €10 billion.
In October, there was an upturn in the turnover volume of stores selling manufactured goods
According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2024, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 886 million euros. Compared with October 2023, the volume of retail trade turnover decreased by 1%.
Average wages and salaries were €1,959 in Q3
According to Statistics Estonia, the average monthly gross wages and salaries in the third quarter of 2024 were €1,959, which is 8.1% higher than in the same quarter the year before. The median wages were €1,620 in the third quarter of this year and €1,500 in the same quarter of 2023.
The producer price index rose by 0.2% in October year on year
The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 0.3% in October 2024 compared with September and by 0.2% compared with October last year.
Number of unemployed persons down by 1,500 in third quarter
According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2024, the unemployment rate was 7.4%, the employment rate was 69.1% and the labour force participation rate was 74.6%. There were 1,500 fewer unemployed people than in the previous quarter.
Number of tourists in accommodation establishments did not increase significantly in September
According to Statistics Estonia, accommodation establishments served 278,000 tourists in September 2024, which is 1% more than in the same month a year earlier. The number of foreign tourists increased by 11%, while that of domestic tourists decreased by 8%.
In October, the consumer price index rose by 4.1% year on year
According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2024, the consumer price index increased by 0.6% compared with September and by 4.1% compared with October 2023. Goods were 2.3% and services 7.1% more expensive than in October last year.
Number of people living in poverty down year on year, perceived deprivation up
According to Statistics Estonia, 20.2% of Estonia’s population lived at risk of poverty and 2.7% in absolute poverty in 2023. Compared with 2022, the share of people living at risk of poverty decreased by 2.3 percentage points and the share of those living in absolute poverty by 0.8 percentage points. The share of people living in self-perceived deprivation was up by 1.5 percentage points in 2024.
Output in mining up by 10.4%, industrial production down as a whole
According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2024, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 1.5% at constant prices compared with September last year. Among the three main sectors, output increased by 10.4% in mining and by 0.9% in electricity production but decreased by 2.1% in manufacturing.
GDP flash estimate: the economy contracted by 0.7% in Q3
