HICP flash estimate: prices down by 0.5% in November

According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in November 2025, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which includes the expenditures of tourists, decreased by 0.5% compared with October. Compared with November last year, the HICP rose by 4.7%. This is a flash estimate, which will be refined once more detailed data on November prices are received.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2018, the exports of goods increased by 7% and imports by 11% compared to August 2017. According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2018, domestic and foreign tourists who stayed in accommodation establishments numbered 448,000, which is 3% more than in August 2017. Compared to August of the previous year, the number of domestic tourists increased and the number of foreign tourists stayed at the level of the previous year.

In August, the volume of industrial production was greater than a year ago

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2018, the production of industrial enterprises increased by 6% compared to August 2017. Production increased in manufacturing and energy, but decreased in mining.

Stable turnover growth in retail trade enterprises continued in August

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2018, compared to August of the previous year, the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased by 2% at constant prices. Similarly to July, turnover showed a stable two-percent growth also in August compared to same month of the previous year.

In the 2nd quarter, Dwelling Price Index increased

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2018, the Dwelling Price Index changed by 1.1% compared to the 1st quarter and by 7.4% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2017.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2018, the producer price index of industrial output changed by 1.0% compared to July and by 3.4% compared to August 2017.

The use of sharing economy services is growing

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2018, the share of internet users among 16–74-year-olds reached 89%, which is 1 percentage point more than a year ago. The share of internet users who ordered accommodation and transport services from private persons increased by 4 and 3 percentage points, respectively.

Mineral products trade increased in both quantity and value, exports tripled and imports doubled.

Consumer price index continued to rise

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in August 2018 was 0.5% compared to July 2018 and 3.6% compared to August of the previous year.
