According to the data of the 2011 Population and Housing Census (PHC 2011), 70% of private households live in dwellings with all basic amenities. In the 2000 census, that share was 65%. As a result of the cooperation between Statistics Estonia, software company Skriining and Ida-Viru central hospital, the first set of wages data that were submitted directly from the enterprise’s IT system arrived at Statistics Estonia this spring.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2014, the gross hourly earnings of female employees were 23.3% lower than the gross hourly earnings of male employees. The gender pay gap decreased by 1.5 percentage points compared to the previous year.
