70% of the residents of Estonia are expecting the answer about the real population number of the country from the Population and Housing Census which will begin at the end of the year, appears from the survey conducted by the research agency Factum & Ariko in October. 95% of the persons questioned consider the Census essential for Estonia.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the fourth quarter of 2023, there were 9,199 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia. This is 18.5% less than in the same quarter last year. A little over 7,000 persons left their job at the initiative of the employer.

“In the third quarter, the total number of vacant and occupied posts was a little under 604,000. Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that the volume of production in manufacturing decreased in 2024 as a whole but there were signs of improvement at the end of the year. “Manufacturing output started to grow in October and November but fell a little in December,” explained Bunder. The producer price index of industrial output, which expresses changes in the producer prices of industrial goods manufactured in Estonia for the domestic market and for export, increased by 0.4% in July 2024 compared with June and by 0.8% compared with July last year.
