The industrial producer price index continued to increase in November

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2016, the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.6% compared to October 2016 and by 1.5% compared to November 2015.

In November, compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by an increase in the prices of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, and in the manufacture of wood and food products, but also by a decrease in prices in the manufacture of fuel oils and electronic equipment.

Compared to November 2015, the producer price index was more than average influenced by an increase in prices in the manufacture of fuel oils, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and in the manufacture of electronic equipment, but also by a decrease in prices in mining and quarrying and in the manufacture of parts and accessories for motor vehicles.

The October producer price index of industrial output is adjusted in relation to the data collected from enterprises.

In November 2016, the export price index changed by -0.4% compared to October 2016 and by 2.6% compared to November 2015.

In November compared to the previous month, the prices of oil products, forestry and leather products decreased more than average, while the prices of chemical products, food and peat products increased more than average.

In November 2016, the import price index changed by 0.1% compared to October 2016 and by 1.2% compared to November 2015.

In November, compared to the previous month, the prices of agricultural products, wearing apparel and building materials increased more than average, while the prices of oil products and metals decreased more than average.

The statistics are based on the questionnaires “Producer price”, ”Export price” and “Import price”, the deadline of which was 6 December 2016. Statistics Estonia published the monthly summary in 9 working days. For the statistical activities “Producer price index of industrial output”, “Export price index” and “Import price index”, the main representative of public interest is the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, commissioned by whom Statistics Estonia collects and analyses the data necessary for conducting the statistical activities.
