The producer price index of industrial output increased in August

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2016, the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.2% compared to July 2016 and by -1.3% compared to August 2015.

In August, compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by an increase in prices in the manufacture of electronic equipment and food products and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, but also by a decrease in prices in the manufacture of beverages, in mining and in the manufacture of electrical equipment.

Compared to August 2015, the producer price index was more than average influenced by a decrease in prices in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, in mining and in the manufacture of parts and accessories for motor vehicles, but also by an increase in prices in the manufacture of electronic equipment and fuel oils.

In August 2016, the export price index changed by 0.3% compared to July 2016 and by 0.3% compared to August 2015.

In August, compared to the previous month, the prices of chemical products, textiles and food products increased more than average, while the prices of beverages, agricultural products, wood products and oil products decreased more than average.

In August 2016, the import price index changed by -0.6% compared to July 2016 and by -2.8% compared to August 2015.

In August, compared to the previous month, the prices of oil products, chemicals and chemical products decreased more than average, while the prices of agricultural products, building materials, and footwear and leather goods increased more than average.
