The decrease in the producer price index of industrial output continued in December

According to Statistics Estonia, in December 2013, the producer price index of industrial output changed by –1.0% compared to November 2013 and by 2.4% compared to December 2012.

In December compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the decrease in prices in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and in the manufacture of wood and metal products as well as by the increase in prices in mining.

Compared to December 2012, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, in mining and in the manufacture of food products as well as by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of electronic equipment.

In December 2013, the export price index changed by –0.2% compared to November 2013 and by –1.6% compared to December 2012.

In December, compared to the previous month, the prices of electricity, wood and chemical products, metals and metal products decreased more than average and the prices of beverages, furniture and forestry products increased more than average.

In December 2013, the import price index changed by –3.8% compared to November 2013 and by –2.3% compared to December 2012.

In December, compared to the previous month, the prices of oil products, electricity, textile and leather products decreased more than average and the prices of agricultural products increased more than average.
