The producer price index of industrial output increased in August

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2013, the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.5% compared to July 2013 and by 3.4% compared to August 2012.

In August, compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, as well as by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of metal products.

Compared to August 2012, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and in the manufacture of food products as well as by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of refined petroleum products.

In August 2013, the export price index changed by 0.5% compared to July 2013 and by –1.4% compared to August 2012.

In August, compared to the previous month, the prices of electricity, chemical and metal products increased more than average and the prices of leather, agricultural, rubber and plastic and food  products decreased more than average.

In August 2013, the import price index changed by 0.5% compared to July 2013 and by –2.6% compared to August 2012.

In August, compared to the previous month, the prices of electricity, leather products and footwear and oil products increased more than average and the prices of agricultural products, metal products and wearing apparel  decreased more than average.
