Producer price indices increased in February

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2012 the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.4 % compared to January and by 3.5% compared to February of the previous year.

In February compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the production of refined petroleum products, heat energy and beverages and by the decrease in prices in the production of metal products.

Compared to February 2011, the index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of food products and by the decrease in prices in the production of paper and paper products.

In February 2012 the export price index changed by 0.9% compared to January 2012 and by 4.7% compared to February 2011.

In February compared to the previous month, the prices of mineral fuels, building materials and textile products increased more than average, and the prices of metals and metal products decreased more than average.

In February 2012 the import price index changed by 2.1% compared to January 2012 and by 6.1% compared to February 2011.

In February compared to the previous month, the prices of mineral fuels, agricultural products and building materials increased more than average and the prices of food and textile products decreased more than average.
