For summer 2012 it will be clear how big the real population of Estonia is and the emigration trends from the country during the last decade, spoke Professor Ene-Margit Tiit today, on 4 February in the university of the dignified of the University of Tartu while introducing the 2011 Population and Housing Census.

According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 6.2%, the employment rate was 65.2% and the labour force participation rate was 69.4% in 2015. The unemployment level was significantly lower and the employment rate and labour force participation rate higher than in 2014. According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the production of milk amounted to 773,800 tonnes in 2015, which is 4% less than the year before. The number of dairy cows decreased by the end of the year, while milk yield per cow increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, a child from the age of three up to the school age stays in the kindergarten for approximately 40 hours a week, which is one of the highest indicators of the European Union. In the European Union the children of the same age group are in the kindergarten on an average for 28 hours a week.
