In June, the annual change of the consumer price index was influenced the most by motor fuel

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in June 2016 was 0.3% compared to May 2016 and -0.4% compared to June of the previous year.

Compared to June 2015, goods were 0.6% and services 0.1% cheaper. Regulated prices of goods and services have fallen by 1.5% and non-regulated prices have stayed on the same level as in June of the previous year.

Compared to June 2015, the consumer price index was influenced the most by motor fuel, as it became 9.8% cheaper, with petrol being 10.2% and diesel fuel 9% cheaper. 8.8% more expensive alcoholic beverages, 9.4% cheaper heat energy and 11% cheaper vegetables also had a bigger impact on the index. The electricity that arrived at homes was 8.1% more expensive in June than in the same month a year ago.

In June compared to May, the consumer price index was influenced the most by 6.7% more expensive electricity that arrived at homes. Transport also had a bigger impact on the index, as motor fuel and plane tickets bought for June were, respectively, 2.1% and 14.5% more expensive.
