In October, the annual change of the consumer price index was influenced the most by motor fuel

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in October 2015 was 0.1% compared to September 2015 and -0.6% compared to October of the previous year.

Compared to October 2014, goods were 1.4% cheaper and services 0.8% more expensive. Regulated prices of goods and services have fallen by 4.6% and non-regulated prices risen by 0.7% compared to October of the previous year.

Compared to October 2014, the consumer price index was influenced the most by motor fuel, which has become 19.4% cheaper. 5.2% cheaper electricity, heat energy and fuels also had a bigger impact on the index, as heat energy was 8.3%, gas 19.6% and the electricity that arrived at homes 1.5% cheaper than in the same month of the previous year. Out of the products which became more expensive, alcoholic beverages had the biggest impact on the index, as their prices have increased 5.5% compared to October of the previous year. The prices of milk and dairy products have decreased 7.4%. Compared to October 2014, of food products, the prices of dried fruit and nuts (21%) and fresh vegetables (16%) have increased the most, whereas the prices of milk and butter have decreased the most (16% and 11%, respectively).

Compared to September 2015, the consumer price index was influenced the most by plane tickets, the prices of which increased 51%. 3.3% cheaper heat energy, 2.6% cheaper motor fuel and 2.4% more expensive electricity that arrived at homes also had a bigger impact on the index.
