According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2013, the production of industrial enterprises increased by 1% compared to August of the previous year. The growth in the production was most of all influenced by the increase in the manufacture of electronic products and production of electricity and peat.

Since January manufacturing showed a stable 2–6% growth compared to the same month of the previous year, whereas in August the production in manufacturing remained on the level of August 2012. The production exceeded the volume of the previous year in about half of the branches of industry. Among the branches of industry holding larger shares, the production grew in the manufacture of electronic products, metal products and building materials. The volume of production fell in the manufacture of electrical equipment, food and chemical products.

In August, 70% of the whole production of manufacturing was sold on the external market. The export sales of manufacturing production did not change significantly compared to August 2012, while domestic sales increased 3%.

In August 2013 compared to July, the seasonally adjusted total industrial production decreased by 4%; manufacturing production fell 1%.

Compared to August 2012, the production of electricity increased by 4%, while the production of heat fell by 7%.
