The producer price index decreased in September

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2012 the producer price index of industrial output changed by -0.2 % compared to August 2012 and by 2.0% compared to September of the previous year.

In September, compared to the previous month, the producer price index was more than average influenced by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of wood and wood products, in the manufacture of refined petroleum products, and in the manufacture of metal products, as well as by the increase in prices in the manufacture of other special-purpose machinery and in the manufacture of beverages.

Compared to September 2011, the index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices in the manufacture of food products and by the decrease in prices of electronic products.

In September 2012 the export price index changed by 0.2% compared to August 2012 and by 1.6% compared to September 2011.

In September, compared to the previous month, the prices of agricultural products, forest and peat products increased more than average and the prices of chemical products and electrical equipment decreased more than average.

In September 2012 the import price index changed by 0.3% compared to August 2012 and by 3.5% compared to September 2011.

In September compared to the previous month, the prices of leather products, electricity, building materials, chemical products and wearing apparel increased more than average and the prices of agricultural and textile products decreased more than average.
