Producer price indices decreased in June

According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2009 the producer price index decreased 0.2% compared to May and 1.2% compared to June 2008.

In June compared to the previous month the producer price index was more than average influenced by the decrease in prices in the manufacture of fabricated metal products and by the increase in prices in the manufacture of electrical machinery and apparatus. Compared to June 2008 the prices increased most in energy supply and in mining.

In June 2009 the export price index decreased 0.2% compared to May 2009 and 5.3% compared to June 2008.

In June compared to the previous month, the export price index was more than average influenced by the decrease in prices in extraction of peat, in the manufacture of building materials and in the manufacture of wood and wood products.

In June 2009 the import price index increased 2.5% compared to May 2009 and decreased 7.9% compared to June 2008.

In June compared to the previous month, the import price index was more than average influenced by the increase in prices of mineral fuels and by the decrease in prices of agricultural products, textiles and wearing apparel.
