How many blocks of flats are there in Kohtla-Järve city and Lüganuse and Valga rural municipalities in which all or most dwellings are unoccupied? Can this question be answered by looking at electricity consumption data? We prepared an analysis, using place of residence registrations and electricity consumption data, to determine how many of the flats in the blocks of flats in Kohtla-Järve city and Lüganuse and Valga rural municipalities are empty.

What economic activities have the largest turnover? Who invests the most? Financial statistics of enterprises help to assess how enterprises and the economy are doing in Estonia. Progressive enterprises increase productivity and break into international markets. They can offer more jobs and pay a more competitive salary. This has a positive impact primarily on working-age population in the areas where the successful enterprises operate, as well on the Estonian economy as a whole. The focus of the global goal “Reduced Inequalities” is safe, controlled and regular migration, and increasing the influence of developing countries in making economic and financial decisions. The 2030 Agenda lays down that the incomes of the 40% of population earning the least must grow faster than national averages. Also, all people must be treated equally, irrespective of their age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, economic or other status, while their social, economic and political inclusion must be promoted. According to Statistics Estonia, in the third quarter of 2020, the labour force participation rate was 71.8%, the employment rate was 66.3%, and the unemployment rate was 7.7%. There were 54,300 unemployed persons, which is 4,900 more than in the second quarter of the year.
People prefer e-commerce while enterprises prefer cloud services

According to Statistics Estonia, 56.5% of the population aged 16–74 used e-commerce in the last three months. Compared to last year, the overall popularity of e-commerce has remained the same, but the amounts spent on purchasing goods and services have increased. The results of the enterprise survey showed that more than half of the companies using the internet use paid cloud services.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2018, life expectancy at birth was 73.9 years for males and 82.4 years for females. Life expectancy has increased for both sexes, slightly more for males. Men are expected to live disability-free for 52.8 and women for 55.6 years. Just a year ago, disability-free life expectancy for males was two years longer and for females over three years longer.
