According to Statistics Estonia, in 2020, Estonian accommodation establishments served nearly 2 million tourists, whose nights spent totalled 3.7 million. The number of visitors fell by 48% compared to 2019.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2014 the production of industrial enterprises grew 2% compared to the previous year. Production increased 4% in manufacturing, but decreased nearly 6% in mining and energy.

The focus of the global goal “Reduced Inequalities” is safe, controlled and regular migration, and increasing the influence of developing countries in making economic and financial decisions. The 2030 Agenda lays down that the incomes of the 40% of population earning the least must grow faster than national averages. Also, all people must be treated equally, irrespective of their age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, economic or other status, while their social, economic and political inclusion must be promoted. According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2016, 212,400 domestic and foreign tourists stayed in accommodation establishments, which was 13% more than in March 2015. The number of both domestic and foreign tourists increased.
