Statistics Estonia highly values the contribution Estonian people and enterprises make to the production of official statistics. Helle Bunder, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that manufacturing output showed growth again in November after two months of decline. “It was driven by the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, where output increased by more than half mainly due to the defence industry. Census data show that an estimated 76% of Estonia’s population speak a foreign language. While 10 years ago the most widely spoken foreign language in Estonia was Russian, today it is English. Estonian is spoken by 84% of the population: 67% speak it as a mother tongue and 17% as a foreign language.

Today, 8th of July, the Government of the Republic approved the regulation, which allows Statistics Estonia during a two-year transition period to ask economic units the data already submitted to the Business Register in their annual reports.
