Statistics Estonia has revised the entire time series of gross domestic product (GDP) starting from 1995. During the revision, updated basic data sources were incorporated and methodological improvements were made.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2023, the dwelling price index increased by 5.9% compared with the average of 2022. The last time that the annual growth of the dwelling price index, which is calculated as the average of four quarters, was this low was in 2018.

The total number of vacant and occupied posts in the fourth quarter was a little under 599,000. “The number of vacant posts was the highest in public administration and defence and compulsory social security (1,277). According to Statistics Estonia, the average gross monthly wages and salaries in the first quarter of 2023 were 1,741 euros, which is 13.3% higher than at the same time last year. The median wages, however, were 1,424 euros. The average real wages in the first quarter of 2023 were 1,443 euros, 3.2% lower than last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March, the consumer price index increased by 0.4% compared with February 2024 and by 3.9% compared with March 2023. Goods were 1.9% and services 7.1% more expensive than in March last year.
