According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 13% and imports by 22% compared with July 2021. Re-exports from Estonia grew by 43%; exports of domestic goods remained at the same level year on year.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that exports of goods of Estonian origin increased by 6% in November, while re-exports decreased by 2%. “The share of goods of Estonian origin in total exports was up by two percentage points in November, accounting for 66%. The groups of goods of Estonian origin with the largest exports in November were electrical equipment and wood and articles of wood,” Leppmets noted. According to Statistics Estonia, in June 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 26% and imports by 24% compared with June 2021. Compared with the second quarter of last year, exports grew by 21% and imports by 30%. In June and in the second quarter as a whole, trade was primarily boosted by the increased exports and imports of mineral fuels and electricity and wood and articles of wood.

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the first quarter of 2021, the exports of services grew by 2% and imports of services by 51% year on year. Estonian economic entities exported and imported services for 1.6 billion euros. The imports of services increased mainly on account of growth in telecommunications, computer and information services.

According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2022, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 18% and imports by 35% compared to February 2021. The rise in imports was significantly influenced by the greater imports of electricity and mineral fuels.

According to Statistics Estonia, in May, exports of goods increased by 47% and imports by 50% year on year. Trade growth was influenced in addition to last year’s low reference base by exports and imports of mineral fuels, electrical equipment and transport equipment.

Last year, re-exports fell by 9% and exports of goods of Estonian origin by 1%. Under goods of Estonian origin, the biggest fall was registered in the exports of prefabricated
