According to the results of the register-based population and housing census of 2021, there are 341,995 families in Estonia, of which almost half, or 49%, are two-member families. Compared with the previous census, there are fewer families, but the number of people living in them has risen. 154,625 families (or 45%) are raising minor children and 16% of the population lives alone.

There is exactly one week left until the end of the Population and Housing Census, as data collection continues with phone interviews. Due to the epidemic, there will be no home visits during this census. But enumerators are visiting the addresses included in the mandatory random sample to post notes that ask residents to make contact.

Although the population has grown for the last seven years, the latest projection predicts a decrease in Estonia’s population by 2085.

The business and consumer surveys reflect economic confidence in four business sectors and among consumers. A confidence indicator* is calculated for each sector based on the survey responses. These indicators are used for economic forecasting and international comparisons, among other things.
