According to Statistics Estonia, in February 2020, the production of industrial enterprises remained at the level of February 2019. Of the three sectors of industry, production increased in manufacturing, but decreased in energy and mining.

According to Statistics Estonia, 34 full-length films were produced in Estonia in 2018, of which 22 were distributed in cinemas in the same year. Cinema attendance set a new record – 3.6 million visits, i.e. 275 visits per 100 inhabitants.

Elisa, Tele2 and Telia to analyse clients’ mobility themselves

In order to provide the crisis commission with a quick overview about whether people are complying with movement restrictions, Elisa, Tele2 and Telia decided to take it upon themselves to analyse the mobility of their clients. The data used for the analysis will be entirely anonymous and not real-time. Statistics Estonia will compile the analyses of the mobile network operators and produce an overview for the whole country. The first results are expected to be available in the coming week. The reason for the new decision is the obligation of the operators to protect personal data and ensure anonymity.

Security is important for everyone. Security, law and justice are necessary for us to feel safe each day, send children to school on their own and walk in public spaces in the dark. Prevention activities should have sufficient impact to avoid crimes and conflicts as much as possible. It is necessary to educate youth from early on, teach them rules of behaviour and social norms as well as responsibility in traffic. Fire safety awareness is required to avoid fatal mistakes. Justice and security statistics reflect the functioning of the Estonian legal system, number of crimes and rescue service
