Today, Statistics Estonia met with technology experts and analysts to present the technical solution of the Register-based Population and Housing Census and its opportunities.
According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2016, the exports of goods increased by 13% and imports by 2% compared to September of the previous year. In the third quarter as a whole exports grew 7%.
According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, the surplus in trade was registered in February, when exports of goods exceeded imports by 0.2 billion kroons. The surplus was last registered in trade in June 1993.
Statistics Estonia and all other European Union statistical authorities, forming the European Statistical System partnership, are responsible for the development, production and dissemination of European statistics. According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2012, exports from Estonia amounted to 1.13 billion euros and imports to Estonia to 1.16 billion euros at current prices. In monthly basis, exports have never been as high before.
Imports is the movement of goods into Estonia for domestic consumption or for resale to other countries. Imports also includes temporary imports of goods for processing in Estonia with the obligation of re-export and re-imports after processing outside Estonia. Imports does not include transit or services. Data on imports from EU countries are based on detailed data and estimates from other EU countries of their exports to Estonia. According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2014, exports of goods increased by 6% and imports remained on the same level compared to July of the previous year. It was the biggest increase in exports in the last 14 months compared to same period of the previous year.
According to Statistics Estonia, in June exports grew by 7% and imports by 22% at current prices compared to June 2009. The biggest increase was announced in the imports of machinery and equipment, transport equipment and metals and products thereof.
According to Statistics Estonia, in May 2013, exports of goods increased by 6% at current prices while imports remained at the same level compared to May of the previous year. Exports increased also compared to April of this year.
According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2011 compared to the same month of the previous year, exports of goods grew by 57% and imports by 66% at current prices. The growth in imports was mainly influenced by the arrivals of machinery and equipment as well as transport equipment. Among partner countries Sweden ranked the first in both exports and imports.
