According to the 2021 census, an estimated one third of the population have a long-term illness or health problem. This is 2 percentage points more than in the previous census in 2011. 28% of the population are limited in their daily activities because of a health problem.
According to Statistics Estonia, urban people are more eager to take part in cultural events, rural people are more active media observers compared to urban people.
According to Statistics Estonia, the most active practitioners of amateur cultural activities in Estonia are the 10–24-year-old young people, among whom singing is the most popular activity.
