How healthy are the people of Estonia?
Starting on 1 May, residents of Estonia will receive invitations to participate in the Estonian Health Interview Survey, which aims to assess the health status of the population, factors influencing it, and the use of health services. The survey covers the entire population of Estonia aged 15 and older.

According to Statistics Estonia, 189.5 million eggs were produced in Estonia in 2024, which is 6% more than the year before. The average annual egg production was 138 eggs per person. Including imported eggs, 16.2 kg or 259 eggs per person were consumed during the year.

According to Statistics Estonia, the unemployment rate was 6.6% and the employment rate was 63.3% in the 1st quarter of 2015. Compared to the first quarters of the previous years, the labour force participation rate was at the highest level of the last 15 years.

According to Statistics Estonia, 188,000 tourists used the services of accommodation establishments in March 2015, which is 3% fewer than in March 2014. The number of foreign tourists decreased and the number of domestic tourists increased.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2015, exports of goods increased by 3% and imports by 1% compared to March of the previous year. The increase in exports and imports was mostly influenced by a growth in the trade of electrical equipment and miscellaneous manufactured articles.

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in April 2015 was 0.5% compared to March 2015 and -0.1% compared to April of the previous year.

Population decline is slowing down
According to the revised data of Statistics Estonia, 1,313,271 persons lived in Estonia on 1 January 2015 – 2,666 persons (0.2%) fewer than at the same time a year earlier. Negative natural increase is the main cause for population decline, while the influence of emigration has decreased significantly.
