HICP flash estimate: prices down by 0.5% in November

According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in November 2025, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which includes the expenditures of tourists, decreased by 0.5% compared with October. Compared with November last year, the HICP rose by 4.7%. This is a flash estimate, which will be refined once more detailed data on November prices are received.

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2014, the average monthly gross income per employee was 954 euros. Compared to 2013, the average gross income increased 6%. The growth rate has been at this level for the last few years.

According to Statistics Estonia, 188,000 tourists used the services of accommodation establishments in March 2015, which is 3% fewer than in March 2014. The number of foreign tourists decreased and the number of domestic tourists increased.

In March foreign trade increased

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2015, exports of goods increased by 3% and imports by 1% compared to March of the previous year. The increase in exports and imports was mostly influenced by a growth in the trade of electrical equipment and miscellaneous manufactured articles.

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in April 2015 was 0.5% compared to March 2015 and -0.1% compared to April of the previous year.

Population decline is slowing down

According to the revised data of Statistics Estonia, 1,313,271 persons lived in Estonia on 1 January 2015 – 2,666 persons (0.2%) fewer than at the same time a year earlier. Negative natural increase is the main cause for population decline, while the influence of emigration has decreased significantly.

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2015 compared to March of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 8% at constant prices.

In March, industrial production increased compared to the previous year

According to Statistics Estonia, in March 2015, the production of industrial enterprises increased by 1% compared to March of the previous year. Production increased in manufacturing, but decreased in mining and energy production.
