According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in July, the harmonised index of consumer prices, which takes into account the expenditures of tourists, rose by 0.5% compared with June. Compared with July 2025, the index rose by 2%. This is a flash estimate which will be refined once more detailed data on July prices are received.

The consumer price index uses weights reflecting the average expenditure structure of Estonian residents, while the harmonised index of consumer prices also takes into account the expenditures of tourists and is comparable to the international HICP (Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices).

“According to the preliminary data, the biggest impact on the July index came from higher housing costs as well as accommodation and food services,” commented Mark Herman Ilumets, an analyst in consumer price statistics at Statistics Estonia.

The consumer price index data for July will be published by Statistics Estonia on Friday, 7 August. July data on the harmonised index of consumer prices will be published on 18 August.
