Latvia conducted a census based entirely on register data on the first day of this year, and it can be considered as a complete success. In addition to various databases, a large amount of information from private companies was used to specify and compare information, for example, on housing. Only people who are included in the survey sample may expect a phone call or visit from a census taker if they have not filled in the e-questionnaire.

According to Statistics Estonia, the Dwelling Price Index increased by 5.9% in 2018 compared to the average of 2017. Year-on-year, the prices of apartments increased by 6.4% and the prices of houses by 4.7%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in October, the consumer price index fell by 1.1% compared with September and rose by 22.5% compared with October 2021. Goods were 20.5% and services 26.4% more expensive than in October last year.

This was the first time since May 2022 that the output of this industry increased,” explained Bunder.
