In September, the number of tourists in accommodation establishments increased

According to Statistics Estonia, in September, domestic and foreign tourists having stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments numbered 257,000, which was 9% more than in September 2015.

In September, exports grew faster than imports

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2016, the exports of goods increased by 13% and imports by 2% compared to September of the previous year. In the third quarter as a whole exports grew 7%.

In October, the monthly change of the consumer price index was influenced the most by a seasonal decrease in the prices of vegetables and fruit

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in October 2016 was -0.3% compared to September 2016 and 0.6% compared to October of the previous year.

In September, the volume of industrial production increased

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2016, the production of industrial enterprises increased 7% compared to September of the previous year. Production increased in manufacturing and the energy sector, but decreased in mining and quarrying.

The stable turnover growth of retail trade enterprises continued in September

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2016 compared to September 2015, the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased 5% at constant prices. Turnover has shown a stable five-percent growth for the second month in succession compared to the same month of the previous year.

The producer price index of industrial output increased in September

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2016, the producer price index of industrial output changed by 0.1% compared to August 2016 and by -0.9% compared to September 2015.

Construction price index took an upturn in the 3rd quarter due to the increasing costs of construction materials

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2016, the construction price index increased 0.7% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2016 and fell by 0.7% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2015.

In August, the number of tourists in accommodation establishments increased

According to Statistics Estonia, in August, domestic and foreign tourists having stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments numbered 417,000, which was 6% more than in August 2015.

In August, the trade deficit was at the lowest level of this year

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2016, the exports of goods increased by 12% and imports by 8% compared to August of the previous year. Export growth was faster than import growth and reduced the trade deficit, which was at the lowest level of this year.

The share of compulsory expenditure in the household budget has decreased

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2015, a household member spent an average of 395 euros per month – 106 euros more than in 2012. At the same time, there has been a decrease in the share of compulsory expenditure in the household budget.
