Estonia produces 71% of the meat consumed here

According to Statistics Estonia, 76,500 tonnes of meat were produced in Estonia in 2024, which is 1% more than the year before. The average annual meat production was 56 kg per person. Including imported meat, a total of 78 kg of meat per person were consumed during the year. 71% of the meat consumed in Estonia in 2024 was locally produced.

The number of tourists in an upward trend this year

According to Statistics Estonia, during the nine months of this year, 1.9 million foreign and domestic tourists stayed in the accommodation establishments of Estonia, which was 11% more than at the same time of 2009. 13% more foreign tourists and 8% more domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments.

In September exports were the biggest of the last two years

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2010, exports of goods from Estonia amounted to 13.2 billion kroons (841 million euros) and imports to Estonia totalled 13.5 billion kroons (860 million euros) at current prices. The turnover of exports was on a similar level last in October 2008.

In September the retail sales turned from decrease to increase

According to Statistics Estonia, in September 2010 compared to September of the previous year the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 1% at constant prices. The decline in retail trade enterprises that had lasted for nearly two and a half years turned to a rise again in September this year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August compared to August of the previous year, exports grew by 37% and imports by 34% at current prices. Exports to Sweden increased by 67% and imports from Sweden increased twofold.

According to Statistics Estonia, during the three summer months 911,000 foreign and domestic tourists stayed in accommodation establishments of Estonia, which was 10% more than at the same time of 2009. 59,000 foreign tourists and 27,000 domestic tourists more stayed in accommodation establishments than last summer.
