The consumer price index rose by 4.8% last year

According to Statistics Estonia, in 2025, the consumer price index increased by 4.8% compared with the average of 2024. The price changes of food and non-alcoholic beverages had the biggest impact on the consumer price index in 2025.

Exports of goods were up by 3% and imports by 7% in November

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2025, Estonia’s exports of goods increased by 3% and imports by 7% compared with November 2024. Exports of goods amounted to over 1.6 billion euros and imports to more than 1.9 billion euros at current prices. Exports of goods of Estonian origin were down in November year on year.

In July industrial production increased

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2014, the production of industrial enterprises rose 2% compared to July of the previous year. The production increased in manufacturing and energy, while in mining the production decreased.

In July the growth in retail sales accelerated even more

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2014 compared to July of the previous year, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises increased 10% at constant prices. Retail sales increased 4% in May and 7% in June compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, whereas in July the retail sales growth accelerated even more.

Construction volumes decreased in the 2nd quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 2nd quarter of 2014 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the total production of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and foreign countries decreased 4%. The construction volumes have decreased for three quarters in a row.

Unemployment decreased in the 2nd quarter

According to Statistics Estonia, unemployed persons numbered 47,000 and the unemployment rate was 6.9% in the 2nd quarter of 2014. Employment increased compared to the 1st quarter, but decreased compared to the same quarter of the previous year. This shows that Estonia is gradually facing the consequences of declining labour force.
