According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2026, the consumer price index increased by 1% compared with December 2025 and by 3.7% compared with January 2025. Compared with December, food prices were up by 2.3% in January.

Starting from January 2026, Statistics Estonia uses a new methodology to calculate the consumer price index (CPI). The CPI classification has also been updated, with price changes now tracked across 13 main groups.

Collected data revealed that the educational attainment of the population continues to rise. The level of education of foreigners living in here has also increased significantly. Estonian women are still among the most highly educated in Europe, and overall Estonia ranks 7th in terms of the share of people with higher education.
