  3. GDP flash estimate: economy grew by 0.9% in Q3
Robert Müürsepp, team lead of national accounts at Statistics Estonia, noted that initial signs indicate a slight improvement in the economy compared with both a year ago and the previous quarter. “The seasonally and working-day adjusted GDP was up by 0.2% from the second quarter of 2025,” Müürsepp added. What is a flash estimate of GDP? The official data on GDP for the third quarter will be published on 1 December, but based on the information already available, it is possible to assess the overall economic trend. Compared with October last year, the index was most affected by price increases in the manufacture of wood and wood products, food, and fabricated metal products. Falling prices in the manufacture of fuel oils, paper and paper products, and electronic equipment had the opposite effect on the index. Year on year, producer

Johanna Linda Pihlak, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that retail trade volume, which had grown by 7% in March year on year, did not grow as fast in April. “In April, the increase in the volume of retail trade turnover was influenced by enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel and by stores selling manufactured goods,” added Pihlak. The turnover volume of enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel increased again in April but at a significantly lower rate. “Compared with April 2025, the turnover volume of these enterprises was up by 3%,” said Pihlak

Jelena Jurkova, analyst in the producer price statistics team at Statistics Estonia, said that, year on year, the producer price index of industrial output fell for the third consecutive month. “Compared with August 2024, the index was most affected by price decreases in electricity production and in the manufacture of fuel oils. Producer prices decreased by 0.1% in manufacturing as a whole, whereas the rise in the manufacture of food products
