The number of international students decreased last year but their tax contribution increased

According to Statistics Estonia, in the academic year 2024/25, international students studying and working in Estonia contributed 16.6 million euros in taxes. In the same period, international graduates of the academic year 2023/24 contributed 7.5 million euros as labour taxes in Estonia. Throughout the analysed period (2017–2025), international students and graduates have contributed over 317 million euros in taxes in Estonia.

In August, the volume of industrial production increased

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2016, the production of industrial enterprises increased 1% compared to August of the previous year. Production increased in the energy sector, but decreased in manufacturing and in mining and quarrying.

According to Statistics Estonia, by 15 September, 91% of the sown area of cereals, 49% of the sown area of rape and turnip rape, and 50% of the area under potatoes had been harvested in Estonia.

According to the adjusted data of Statistics Estonia, in 2015, the Estonian general government surplus was 0.1% and the gross debt level was 10.1% of the gross domestic product.
