According to Statistics Estonia, the sharp decrease of freight volume of transport enterprises in Estonia continued in 2009. The freight turnover decreased by 13% and the economic crisis affected remarkably the road transport enterprises. Passenger transport did not change significantly.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2014, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,005 euros and the average hourly gross wages and salaries were 6.14 euros. Compared to 2013, the average monthly gross wages and salaries increased by 5.9% and the average hourly gross wages and salaries by 7.2%.
Today, on 27 July, Statistics Estonia presents the publication “Eesti statistika aastaraamat 2016. Statistical Yearbook of Estonia”, which provides a statistical overview of life in Estonia and comparisons with other European Union countries.
Statistics Estonia has announced a competition for engaging 25 personnel specialists who will conduct the recruitment of the Census employees this autumn and winter. For conducting the 2011 Population and Housing Census, over 2,400 Census employees must be recruited.
According to Statistics Estonia, a job competition for the recruitment of 2,200 enumerators for the Population and Housing Census 2011, which will start at the end of this year, is declared open today, on 3 October, at 9:00 a.m.
According to Statistics Estonia, the freight volume (in tonne-kilometres) of Estonian transport enterprises increased by 8% in 2010 compared to the previous year, mainly due to the increase in the freight volume of sea and railway transport in international traffic.
