According to Statistics Estonia, 64% of the gross value added of the Estonian gross domestic product (GDP) in 2017 was created in Harju county. However, the differences between counties as regards GDP per capita are getting smaller.

Helga Laurmaa, leading analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that 108,000 foreign and 109,000 domestic tourists were accommodated in Estonia in March 2025. “The number of foreign tourists was 7% lower than in March last year and it was also smaller compared with March 2019 (down by 13%),” explained Laurmaa. Similarly to the earlier months of this year, accommodation establishments served more domestic than foreign tourists in March. According to Statistics Estonia, in the first quarter of 2021, the gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 5.4% year on year. The GDP at current prices was 6.9 billion euros.

According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in the fourth quarter of 2021, the gross domestic product (GDP), which shows how the Estonian economy is doing, grew by 8.6% compared to the same period of 2020. The GDP at current prices was 8.7 billion euros.
