Foreign trade statistics cover exports and imports of goods and services between Estonia and partner countries. While international trade in goods is based on their physical movement across borders, trade in services focuses on transactions between residents and non-residents, regardless of their location.

Since 2014, 73,400 foreign citizens have become e-residents of Estonia. 20% of these e-residents have participated in founding a business and over 14,200 businesses have been registered in Estonia with their participation. According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in 2023, the total production value of Estonian construction enterprises in Estonia and abroad decreased by 6% at constant prices compared with 2022. Considering only the domestic market, the fall in construction volume was 7%.

According to Statistics Estonia, in January 2024, the total production of industrial enterprises decreased by 8.6% at constant prices compared with January 2023. Among the three main sectors, output fell by 11.9% in manufacturing and remained almost the same in mining, falling by just 0.6%. In energy production, output increased by 15%.
