The results of the Estonian Social Survey show that Estonian people are happier than Latvians and Lithuanians but not nearly as happy as the residents of Finland and Sweden. In the first quarter, the balance of foreign trade in services was in surplus by 765 million euros. The surplus increased by 114 million euros compared with the first quarter of 2025. According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2014, the total profit of the business sector was 705 million euros, which was 10% more than in the same period a year ago.

By the midnight of Tuesday, 24 January, more than half a million people had been enumerated online – this is 38% of the estimated population of Estonia. The census can be completed online only until 31 January.

After a few years of stagnation, 2016 can be considered rather successful for enterprises – the turnover, investments as well as the number of active enterprises increased by 4%. The improved results were reflected also in profits – the profit for the reporting year increased by 11%. Productivity indicators improved also.

Today and tomorrow are the last days when it is still possible to participate in the Estonian e-census. All Estonian residents are invited to complete the survey. By today, January 21, more than 530,000 persons, i.e. 40% of the population, have been enumerated on the basis of the census e-questionnaire.

Until Sunday 25 March (inclusive), all those people who have not participated in the census and have not been contacted by an enumerator yet can notify Statistics Estonia and have an enumerator sent to their place of residence. By Friday, more than 1,000 people had notified Statistics Estonia.
