According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in September 2025, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), which includes the expenditures of tourists, decreased by 1.2% compared with August. Compared with September last year, the HICP rose by 5.2%. The HICP is a flash estimate, which will be revised based on the September price data.

Construction prices rose by 1.5% last year

According to Statistics Estonia, the construction price index, which expresses the change in construction expenditures, increased by 1.5% in 2025 compared with the average of 2024. The rising cost of materials was the main reason for the increase in the construction price index.

There were 7% more foreign tourists accommodated in November

According to Statistics Estonia, accommodation establishments served 254,989 tourists in November 2025, which is 3% more than in the same month a year earlier. There were 7% more foreign tourists, but the number of domestic tourists did not increase.

The volume of retail trade turnover in November was unchanged year on year

According to Statistics Estonia, in November 2025, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was 907 million euros. Compared with November 2024, the volume of retail trade turnover remained at the same level.

In April, trade growth slowed down

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2017, the exports of goods decreased by 1% and imports increased by 2% compared to April 2016. A decrease in the exports of electrical equipment significantly contributed to the decline in exports.

In the 1st quarter, the number of job vacancies exceeded 11,200

According to Statistics Estonia, there were over 11,200 job vacancies in the enterprises, institutions and organisations of Estonia in the 1st quarter of 2017. This is the highest number of job vacancies in the past 8 years. While in the previous quarter, the number of job vacancies reached slightly above 9,000, in the 1st quarter, the number of job vacancies increased by 24%.

In May, the consumer price index was affected the most by food

According to Statistics Estonia, the change of the consumer price index in May 2017 was 0.2% compared to April 2017 and 3.3% compared to May of the previous year.

In April, the number of tourists in accommodation establishments increased

According to Statistics Estonia, 257,000 domestic and foreign tourists stayed in Estonian accommodation establishments in April 2017, which was 14% more than in April 2016.

In April, the volume of industrial production was greater than a year ago

According to Statistics Estonia, in April 2017, compared to April 2016, the turnover of retail trade enterprises increased 1% at constant prices. While in March the turnover increased 5% compared to the same month of the previous year, in April the growth decelerated.

According to Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased 4.4% in the 1st quarter of 2017 compared to the 1st quarter of the previous year.
