According to Statistics Estonia, in October 2017, the production of industrial enterprises increased 6% compared to October 2016. Production increased in mining and quarrying but decreased in the energy sector.
According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2017, the average monthly gross wages and salaries were 1,201 euros, having increased 7.4% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2016. The year-over-year growth in wages and salaries accelerated for the second consecutive quarter.
According to Statistics Estonia, 3.5 million domestic and foreign tourists stayed in the accommodation establishments of Estonia in 2017, i.e. 7% more than in 2016.
From 16–18 June the expert group of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will be visiting Statistics Estonia in order to elaborate the report estimating the ability of Estonia to meet the statistical requirements for joining the OECD.
According to Statistics Estonia, in 2017, the production of electricity totalled 13 terawatt-hours, which is 8% more than in the previous year. Electricity production from renewable sources increased 13% compared to 2016.
