The role of household consumption decreased. After years of decline, investments began to increase again as a result of improved economic climate, indicating a positive mind-set of entrepreneurs.

According to Statistics Estonia, in July 2009 compared to July of the previous year, the production of industrial enterprises decreased 28%. The decline in industrial production that had started at the end of the previous year continued in July.

According to Statistics Estonia, in February, exports of goods increased by 16% and imports by 10% year on year. The growth in foreign trade was significantly boosted by trade in mineral products and wood and articles of wood.
