According to the data of 2012, in Estonian emigration the movement takes place towards the countries offering bigger economic welfare. People emigrate from Estonia mainly to Finland and the United Kingdom and people immigrate to Estonia from Finland and Russia.

This year, for the first time, Statistics Estonia distributed the deadlines of the EKOMAR questionnaire over a longer period and, depending on the economic activity of the enterprise, the deadline fell in the period of 1–8 July. Out of the 8,000 enterprises that were to submit the questionnaire, 44% submitted EKOMAR in time.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 1st quarter of 2011, seven out of ten households in Estonia had Internet connection at home, most of them broadband connection. The percentage of households with Internet connection has slightly increased every year during the last five years.

Jane Leppmets, foreign trade analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that both exports and imports of goods increased in March, as in the first two months of the year. “Exports of goods grew in all commodity sections. The rise in exports was influenced by an even larger increase in re-exports, which rose by 27% year on year. This was mainly due to an increase in the re-exports of transport equipment,” Leppmets noted. According to Statistics Estonia, by preliminary data, five births less than deaths were registered in Estonia in 2010. By preliminary estimation, the population of Estonia was 1,340,100 on 1 January 2010.

According to Statistics Estonia and Eesti Pank, in the third quarter of 2022, Estonia’s exports of services grew by 32% and imports by 33% year on year. Estonia’s exports of services totalled 2.8 billion euros and imports of services 2.2 billion euros. The balance of foreign trade in services was in surplus by 568 million euros, which is 129 million euros more than in the same quarter last year.

According to Statistics Estonia, in the 3rd quarter of 2018, the average monthly gross wages and salaries of enterprises, institutions and organisations were 1,291 euros, having increased by 7.5% compared to the 3rd quarter of 2017. The year-on-year growth in average monthly gross wages and salaries was 1.1 percentage points faster than in the previous quarter.

According to Statistics Estonia, today the Government of the Republic approved the list of official statistical surveys for the year 2010.
